Part of the confusion surrounding the word “ruddy” is that what is being taught has it’s origins in British Israelism. Ruddy has never referred to blushing white skin or sunburned skin. It has always been used to refer to reddish brown animals and people.

“And he sent, and brought him in. Now he wasruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.” – 1 Samuel 16:12

“And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” – John 8:45-47
