Introduction To Israelite History was designed with the goal of helping students develop a strong foundation and understanding of Biblical people, their origin, and their importance to the Biblical narrative. This course is essential for those seeking to get into ministry or apologetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course Syllabus<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This is an ASYNCHRONOUS ONLINE course, which mean<\/span>s that there will be no scheduled class <\/span>times. All lectures are pre-recorded and y<\/span>ou are free to complete lessons at your own pace. There are a total of 8 Modules in this course. In order to unlock the next Module, you must pass the previous Module’s quiz. Example: Module 2 will not unlock until you have successfully passed the Module 1 Quiz with a score of 85% or higher.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Required Books:<\/strong> The Bible (any version)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course Description<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This course is an overview of Old Testament genealogy starting with Adam and ending with the twelve Tribes of Israel. There is a strong focus on understanding the genealogical history of Genesis. As such, this course does not address scriptural interpretation, doctrine outside of genealogy, or other matters of a theological nature outside of the existence of God and the concept of a chosen lineage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning Outcomes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

By the end of this course, a student should be able to:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Understand the importance of lineage in the Bible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Understand the concept of chosen people and nations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Understand the origin of the Hebrews.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Differentiate between Hebrews and Israelites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Understand the relationship between geography and lineage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Understand how to use Strong’s Concordance and other tools.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This course is divided into two sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Section I<\/strong>: Establishing a Solid Biblical Foundation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Module 1: Genesis Chapters 1 – 4<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Module 2: Genesis Chapters 5 – 9<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Module 3: Genesis Chapters 10 – 15<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Module 4: Genesis Chapters 16 – 50<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Midterm Exam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Section II:<\/strong> Building Upon The Foundation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Module 5: Genesis Chapters 11, 16, 20, and 23 – 30<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Module 6: Genesis Chapters 10 and 14<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Module 7: Genesis Chapters 2, 12, 15, and 46<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Module 8: No Required Reading<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Final Exam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Required Viewing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        Every lesson contains videos that are required viewing. These videos were chosen in order to give you a broader understanding of scripture from multiple viewpoints. Some of the information covered in the videos may appear on exams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Exams<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        There is an exam at the end of each section. You will need to score at least 85% to pass the test. In order to pass this course, you must score an 85% average on all tests combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Grading<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        BHITBU operates on a pass or fail principle. If you score 85% or above on a quiz, you pass. Anything below 85% is considered a failing grade. You may retake a quiz as many times as you need to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
