Chapter 2: The Ultimate MMORPG

MMORPG stands for “massive multiplayer online role playing game.” The basic premise of most MMORPGs, no matter the genre, is choosing a character and then building that character into who or what you want them to be, based on your play style. In an MMORPG there are two types of characters in the game:

  • User Controlled
  • NPC (non player characters)

User controlled characters are characters controlled by a human operator. On the other hand, NPCs are programmed to act, respond, and behave in a predetermined manner. Let’s start this chapter off by looking at the NPCs in our world.

Non Player Characters

In most MMORPGs the animals, bad guys, some good guys, and most townspeople are NPCs. One real life example of NPCs are bees. They do what they’ve always done because they’ve been programmed to do so.

  • If you agitate bees they will sting you.
  • If bees are left to themselves they will pollinate and breed.

Bees have a limited list of activities that they’re programmed to perform. Bees don’t suddenly fly away from the colony to do their own thing or take a vacation. The same with ants, grasshoppers, lions, sharks, plants, etc.

The Purpose of NPCs

The purpose of an NPC is to keep the player engaged and to move the storyline along. So far we’ve looked at NPCs in the form of nature, but is it possible that some of the people we know, live with, or work with are NPCs just going through pre-programmed responses?

  • Why is it that no matter how hard we try, some people just won’t wake up to certain truths?
  • Why is it that when even proven wrong beyond the shadow of a doubt, some people will still defend the lie as if that’s what they were programmed to do?
  • Why do some mass shooters black out, go on a killing spree, and then not remember doing so?

Conspiracy theorists often refer to these type of people as “MK Ultra” agents, plants, etc. While MK Ultra was a real operation, it is mostly used as a blanket statement for brainwashed people when speaking to less studied conspiracy theorists.

  1. NPCs do what they are told / programmed to do.
  2. NPCs cannot become “awake” or self aware.
  3. NPCs are designed to look and behave like they’re self aware.

There are several ways to identify a potential NPC. They may say things like the following:

  • I was raised to…
  • I’m just following orders.
  • I’m just doing my job.

All of these responses are just different ways of them saying that they’re doing what they’ve been programmed by others to do. This isn’t a sure fire way to determine whether or not a person is self aware or an NPC, but it’s a start.

“The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.” – Deuteronomy 29:3-4

Sleep Walking

Between non player characters and those fully awake, is another level that I refer to as Sleep Walkin. Similar to Westworld, they’re aware that something isn’t right, but they’re not quite sure what it is. It takes a major event (catalyst) for them to become fully self aware.

My personal awakening has occurred in stages and still may not be finished. I have two foundational experiences that stood out to me from my past. The first is questioning the pastor that told us that angels were genderless hermaphrodites, which made me question if he knew what he was talking about. This was huge because I was brought up to accept what the pastor said without questioning it.

The second was the biggest because every generation in my family prior to me was raised to vote Democrat. Not only was I the first in my family to question the concept of voting, but I was the first person in my family to refuse to vote for either party. It was the year 2000 and it was also my senior year in high school. I remember watching Bush vs. Gore in Government class, which was a required class to graduate in Las Vegas. The teacher asked each of us who we’d vote for and when he got to me, my response was, “I don’t want to vote for either one of em.”

I was the only person in the class that didn’t want to vote for either side, and it caught him by surprise. He was clearly a Republican even though he tried to play like he was unbiased, and he assumed I was going to say Democrat like the other black kids in the class. When I turned eighteen, I was the first person in the family to register as non-partisan. Not belonging to either party allowed my eyes to open to everything wrong with both parties.

I was fully awakened politically, but I was still asleep to who I am ethnically, racially, or however you want to define it. The Revelation that black descendants of slaves are the descendants of Israelites in the Bible wouldn’t come until 2015. I was aware enough to know that something was wrong with the political process, but I wasn’t aware of how embedded it was with racism and a spiritual malicious agenda. I refer to this as REM Sleep.

REM Sleep

Much like in The Matrix, the world feels like a dream, and there are some of us that sometimes wake up inside the dream when something alerts us to the fact that we’re dreaming. For me, when I dream about my deceased uncle or if I dream about sex, I immediately realize I’m in a dream and become “conscious” within the dream, even though I’m not physically awake. For me, when I realize that I’m in a dream, I also know it’s only a matter of seconds before I wake up physically. I’ve never been able to stop my awakening process for long after I realize I’m conscious in my dream. This brings us to an interesting occurrence.

The Time Paradox

The Time Paradox occurs when a person is experiencing the passage of time at two different speeds simultaneously. Before I explain, let’s look at the definition of a paradox.

“A seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true.”

The body experiences time in real time. It doesn’t experience time faster or slower under normal circumstances, but the mind is different. The first time I became aware of this is when I had what felt like hours worth of a dream, but had only dozed off for about ten minutes. This has happened quite a bit over the course of my life,

This caused me to question how long we actually dream out of all of the time we spend sleeping… and if we could control our dreams, going to sleep for a few minutes could buy us hours of time to think through tough situations, work out the plot of a book, mentally troubleshoot problems in our businesses, and so much more. The ability to do this would be similar to a computer having an upgrade to its processor or a human that could time travel hours into the future.

Mental Time Travel

If the body is sleep for ten minutes but the mind can experiences three hours worth of thoughts in that same time frame, we could save 170 minutes of physical life by working in our sleep. In the movie Dr. Strange, he would Astral Project in order to continue working while his body was asleep. The only thing that wasn’t accounted for in the movie is the time variation that many people experience.

While the idea of experiencing three hours in ten minutes is only a very rough example at best, it would amount to mentally living 18 hours for every one hour of sleep our bodies got. In context, Dr. Strange would’ve been able to get 144 hours worth of practice and reading completed in only 8 hours. That’s six days worth of work in the time frame of one night’s rest. Our productivity levels would go through the roof.

Imagine if there was a problem that you couldn’t figure out for work or anything at all, and you had to figure it out by the time you got to work the next morning. You’d go to sleep knowing you’d have at least six days to figure it out before morning. A complete paradox, but not completely outside of the realm of possibility. Understanding this concept also helps us put the following Bible verses in perfect context:

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” – 2 Peter 3:8
