One man rode out the flood standing on top of a stranded box truck; others clung to an overpass wall as firefighters worked to reach them. FDNY confirmed rescue operations were underway for people trapped in their cars citywide, and the entrance to the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights subway station flooded as well.<br \/>\nIn Flushing, homeowners spent the aftermath cleaning out flood-damaged homes, while at least three major roadways were shut down across Brooklyn and Queens.
