This source confirms that Bedouins were considered to be extremely dark skinned in the Middle Ages. This source also does a great job of informing one that blackness worked two ways in some ancient and medieval peoples/individuals’ mind: blackness in terms of physical description and blackness in terms of morally or spiritually “unholy”, “bad”, etc.
