Many people refer to Jeremiah as "the weeping prophet", but why was he weeping? It was because he saw the descendants of Israel enslaved in America, how they were being treated, and ultimately the wrath of God that would be poured out upon America for doing so. In scripture, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Zephaniah refer to the future descendants of Israel as a "daughter":
The daughter of my people.
The daughter of my dispersed.
