Black History In The Bible was launched in December of 2015 by Dante Fortson. The original purpose of this site was to share the information collected in favor of black people descending from Noah’s son Ham, and not from Shem. That incorrect assumption was the beginning of nearly a decade of researching and collecting sources, that have led to the conclusion, that some black people do indeed descend from Shem as well as Ham, and many of those descendants ended up scattered all over the world via the Inquisition and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
From Hobbyist To Virtual Museum
With nearly a decade’s worth of book references, quotes, maps, images, documentaries, and more; the decision was made to convert what was once a hobbyist history site into a virtual museum of Biblical Black History and Culture of all kinds. BHITB is the first and only virtual museum that dedicates the majority of our focus on collecting and disseminating the history of black Jews wherever they may reside in the world.
The Future of BHITB
In addition to our focus on Biblical Black History, we are also actively involved in cataloguing the present in preparation for the future. We collect images, videos, writings, etc. of black people all over the world that identify as Israelites. We believe that our research and collection of sources will help shape the future of how we view both history and the Bible.
