On June 7, 2026, a Black family in Leesburg, Georgia was holding a peaceful family reunion when 36-year-old Jeffrey Tyler Kinzer drove past their home, leaned out of his window, and began shouting racial slurs at the group. The family tried to ignore him. He left — then came back minutes later wearing body armor and carrying an AR-15-style rifle, and opened fire. A family member — a Marine veteran — shot back, and Kinzer was the only one injured. He was arrested, charged only with aggravated assault, and released on a $5,000 bond. The community is outraged and demanding hate crime charges.
