BMF and All American actor Da’Vinchi sat down with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Jess on The Breakfast Club (Oct. 27, 2026) to address the backlash over his comments on Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast, where he called Americans "incompetent" and talked about work ethic and slavery.
Da’Vinchi says his wording was clumsy and that he wasn’t singling out Black Americans. He also says slavery isn’t an excuse but a reality. Charlamagne presses him for a formal apology, then stops him before his "unity" answer turns into "all lives matter."
He was also on the show to promote his roles on NBC’s Chicago Fire and in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? on Netflix.
