Source: New Encyclopedia of Africa, Volume 1: 'Abd al-Qādir–Cummings-John (Charles Scribner's Sons (Thomson Gale)) 2008 A.D. Note: Page 9 of the source. This source brings up several theories regarding the name of Africa, but the notion that Africa is named after a descendant of Abraham or an individual who came from Yemen stand out. I do believe the Afar people are indeed related to Abraham and/or ancient near eastern peoples because they state their ancestor came from Yemen.
