In a devastating 6-3 ruling along ideological lines, the U.S. Supreme
Court has given President Trump the green light to strip Temporary
Protected Status (TPS) from over 330,000 Haitians and 3,800 Syrians
living legally in the United States.
The ruling means:
π¨ 330,000+ Haitians lose legal status & work authorization
π¨ Deportations to one of the world’s most dangerous countries
π¨ American-born children left behind
π¨ No court can now challenge TPS terminations
π¨ 1.3 million TPS holders from 17 countries now at risk
In this video we break down:
β
What the Supreme Court actually ruled and WHY
β
Justice Alito’s majority opinion explained
β
Justice Kagan’s explosive dissent β what she revealed
β
Trump’s racist statements about Haiti the majority ignored

What happens to Haitian families NOW
β
The impact on 13 other countries also targeted
Justice Elena Kagan wrote in dissent that Trump’s statements
about Haiti were "so repellent and racially inflected that the
majority declines to put them in print."
Attorneys for Haitian TPS holders warned: "This decision will
directly result in thousands of innocent people dying violent,
needless deaths."
Haiti currently has 2,300+ people killed by gang violence this
year alone. The State Dept warns Americans NOT to travel there.
This isn’t just an immigration story. This is a racial justice
story. This is a Black story.
