While Trump’s DOJ was busy blocking $25,000 reparations
payments to Black families in Evanston Illinois — Ghana
was hosting a historic global reparations summit in Accra
with delegates from more than 80 countries. The conference
ran June 17-19 — ending on Juneteenth — the first ever
Juneteenth commemoration outside the United States.
123 nations voted yes to a landmark UN reparations
resolution in March 2026. Ghana called the world together
to act on it. The US government sent nobody.
In this video we break down what happened at the Ghana
summit, what the 80+ countries agreed to, why the US
was absent, what the Pope’s apology has to do with all
of this, and what this means for Black Americans fighting
for reparations right now.
This is the most important story Black America isn’t
hearing enough about.
